987 Pizza & The Backyard Social Club

In 2016, our consultancy firm was approached by 987 Pizza located in the historical city of Gyeongju, South Korea. Our client presented us with a traditional Korean house with a breathtaking view of the ancient burial mounds of the former kings and queens of Korea. We saw this as a unique opportunity to create something truly special, and thus, with our expertise, we transformed the building into the first American-style pizza and beer restaurant in the area. Our services spanned from interior and exterior design, brand and identity development to menu creation.

Two years later, when a smaller space became available behind the building, we were once again engaged to create a new concept, "The Backyard Social Club." This intimate speakeasy bar offered a warm and cozy ambiance, specializing in handcrafted cocktails. Today, 987 Pizza has become a must-visit destination in Gyeongju, not just for its delectable food, but also for its historic architecture and unique blend of cultures. The success of 987 Pizza has been widely recognized, appearing in numerous TV shows and press articles, solidifying its place as a staple in the area.
